What you need

The easy way

  1. Preheat the broiler. In a bowl, mix mashed beans, tuna, mayonnaise, mustard, garlic, salt, and pepper.
  2. Toast bread slices lightly under the broiler for 1-2 minutes until golden.
  3. Spread the tuna-bean mixture evenly over each slice of toast, then top with shredded cheddar cheese.
  4. Return to the broiler for 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly; watch closely to prevent burning.
  5. Serve immediately; leftovers should be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
